It is primarily used as an “adjacent fabric” in colorfastness tests to see how dyes transfer to different fiber types during washing, dry cleaning, or perspiration.

  • Standards & Approval: It is specifically approved for use in Marks & Spencer (M&S) testing (meeting the M&S C3 standard) and is widely used by other retailers like Next and Debenhams.
  • Composition: It consists of six different fiber strips woven into a single ribbon:
    1. Regenerated Cellulose (Lyocell/LyoW)
    2. Bleached Cotton
    3. Nylon (Polyamide) 6.6
    4. Polyester
    5. Acrylic
    6. Wool
  • Identification: To distinguish it from the similar “DW” type, Multifiber LW includes a black thread in the selvedge (edge)
